Benefits
To Help Others Become Fly Fishers
Whether you are brand new to the sport of fly fishing or just want to improve your fly-fishing abilities, The North Arkansas Fly Fishers can help you. We have classes such as Introduction to Fly Fishing, both Beginner and Intermediate Fly-Tying classes, and Rod Building classes. The Member’s Only section of the Education pages provides additional, topic specific information to help you improve your fly-fishing abilities. One of the biggest benefits is our experienced members who are always willing to help others get started or improve their fly-fishing game.?
NAFF Mentor Program
If you are interested in learning to fly fish, and don’t know where to start, we offer a mentoring program. It is available to all skill levels. Whether you are new to the area and need to know where to fish, when, and with what, or wonder why you’re not as successful as you hope to be. Or you’ve never held a fly rod in your hand and are intrigued to see what the fuss is all about. This is a great way to get hands on experience!
Friendship Among the Members
We have monthly club meetings with timely speakers, several formal club outings per year, impromptu fishing get-togethers, and our “Weekend with an Expert” meeting – which is a Saturday-Sunday meeting the first weekend of every November that takes a deep dive into fly fishing from one of our industries well known experts. These items provide plenty of opportunity to meet and develop friendship with like-minded individuals. Many of our members have developed lifelong friendships through the club.
Opportunity to Give Back
We support many conservation, philanthropic and youth focused projects. Also, we support our veterans through Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. Whether you want to volunteer to help in any of these programs or become active in the management of the club, there is plenty of opportunity to give back to the sport you love.
Monthly Newsletter
Along with information about our next speaker, upcoming events and a monthly message from our President, our newsletter includes articles from several local fly-fishing guides that provide detailed and timely information on fishing our local waters. Most months include an article on fly tying too!
Members Only Section of the Website
Great information on knots, casting, fly tying, entomology, and other useful information that will help you improve your fly fishing experiences. There are also Member’s only Blogs and Forums, some with additional expert advice, some just for fun.
